Rains to continue in Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines - Eastern and Central Visayas and the regions of Caraga and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms today due to a low-pressure area, the state weather bureau said yesterday.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

As of 4 p.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the low-pressure area, formerly Tropical Depression Domeng, was estimated at 530 km east of Surigao City.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern section of the Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
