MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Six people died and 25 others were injured when a truck rammed into a residence in Carcar City in Cebu province today, local police said.
Dennis Cabajar, traffic investigator of the Carcar City Police Station, said five of the six fatalities, all occupants of the ill- fated truck, died on the spot, while the sixth died in the hospital.
The 25 injured are confined in various hospitals in Cebu province, to which the Carcar city belongs. The injured also includes the truck's driver, the police added.
Cabajar said the incident occurred as the truck, which was negotiating a curvy road along a national highway at Guadalupe village, Carcar, lost its brakes and then hit a house nearby.
