STAR’s #LingapBohol donations hit P2 M

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine STAR’s fund drive for Bohol quake victims, dubbed #LingapBohol, gathered steam yesterday as kind institutions and individuals responded to The STAR’s call for help.

From a seed fund of P1.2 million, new donations raised the funds to P2.013 million.

The STAR, through its social arm Operation Damayan, is carrying out relief operations in the town of Loon, Bohol, with the first batch of volunteers leaving for Bohol today to lay the groundwork.

“We would like to help as many families as we can at the soonest time possible,” STAR president and CEO Miguel Belmonte said.

The initial relief operations will provide assistance to 3,000 families that have been displaced by the killer quake.

Advocacy partner Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation (CLF) led donors with a P400,000 donation. CLF regularly partners with Operation Damayan for relief and adopt-a-school projects, among others.
