Sunny weather expected in next 3 days – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines - The country will continue to experience sunny weather in the next three days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather forecasting section chief Rene Paciente said the low-pressure area spotted east of extreme northern Luzon was expected to dissipate within the next 24 hours.

Paciente, however, said isolated thunderstorms might still affect the country.

“Localized thunderstorms could still be experienced but these may only last for two hours,” he said.

As of 4 a.m. yesterday, the low-pressure area was spotted at 1,050 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

Paciente said no other weather disturbances were spotted within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility based on latest forecasts.

A total of 14 tropical cyclones have entered the country so far this year.

Three or four cyclones are likely to enter the country in September, Paciente said.

Meanwhile, PAGASA warned fishermen not to sail into the northern seaboard of Luzon.

The bureau said big waves would affect Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan and northern coast of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte.
