MANILA, Philippines - Suspected members of leftist New People's Army (NPA) killed a pro-government militia in Davao today, the military said.
The victim was identified as Delio Jamana, who was off duty when two rebels sprayed him with bullets at around 11:00 a.m. in Calinan Proper village, said First Lieutenant Vilma Mojado, spokesperson of the Army's 10th Infantry Division.
Jamana, who was assigned at Tamayong Patrol Base, sustained 11 gunshot wounds on his head, police said.
Authorities have been investigating the incident, Mojado said.
