MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano yesterday pushed for the delivery of all benefits intended for senior citizens, particularly those who are living outside urban centers.
Cayetano made the call following his visit to his wife’s 86-year-old grandmother Estelita Campo Clarino in Tiwi, Albay over the weekend.
The senator said senior citizens’ access to benefits like health care should be improved. He said the Senior Citizens Law is not being enjoyed by beneficiaries in far-flung regions.
Cayetano has been supportive of the rights of the elderly and has filed Senate Bill 2352 that seeks wider health and medical coverage for them.
