‘Noy not using his economics to solve poverty problem’

MANILA, Philippines - A senatorial aspirant has accused President Aquino of not “using his economics” in order to lift the country out of poverty.

Banking on a pro-poor campaign, Baldomero Falcone said over ANC’s Headstart on Wednesday that Aquino’s daang matuwid (straight path) advocacy is not enough to lighten the burden of poor Filipinos.

He also criticized former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and lashed out at Vice President Jejomar Binay for “campaigning too soon.”

Falcone, who is running under the Democratic Party of the Philippines, expressed belief that he and his party have formulated a solution to end poverty in the country.

He said the Priority Development and Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel should be abolished.

On the issue of the conflict in Sabah, he said the government should have supported the sultanate of Sulu in its bid to reclaim the territory from Malaysia.
