MANILA, Philippines - Investigators, forensic experts and municipal health workers of Cavite resumed yesterday afternoon the exhumation of skeletal remains, believed to be human, from the backyard of slain mass killer Roland Bae in Kawit, Cavite.
The skeletons will be brought to the Crime Laboratory at Camp Crame for analysis and identification, Chief Inspector Reynaldo Magdaluyo, head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cavite, told The STAR.
Bae’s helper, John Paul Lopez, said the skeletons belonged to another victim of Bae, who went on a shooting rampage and killed seven residents of Barangay Tabon 1 earlier this month.
“We have to be sure if the recovered skeletons belong to Bae’s former helper Teodulo Villanueva,†Magdaluyo said.
“We have not established if the pieces of bones we recovered on Tuesday are human skeletons,†he added.
Lopez, who was charged with multiple murder and frustrated murder for helping Bae carry out the shooting rampage last Jan. 4, led police authorities to the burial site.
