MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) recently came out with the Bernardo Carpio stamp, the fourth and last installment of their folklore themed stamps for this year.
Last Nov. 28, PHLPost released its fourth topical Philippine folklores and legends stamp featuring Bernardo Carpio.
Nemiranda House said Bernardo Carpio is a legendary figure in Philippine mythology.
A giant with big footsteps that reportedly can cause earthquakes, he is said to be living in the mountains of Rodriguez, Rizal.
However, some say that he is an ordinary man whose strength equals that of the Greek demigod Hercules.
On Nov. 28, PHLPost released two million pieces of Bernardo Carpio stamps sold at P7 a piece.
The stamp would be made available until Nov. 27 next year or until supply lasts.
Earlier this year, PHLPost issued three other folklore stamps: Maria Makiling, Habagat and Amihan.
