MANILA, Philippines - The following are highlights of the Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) of Chief Justice Renato Corona for fiscal years 2002-2010:
In 2002, Corona declared assets worth P14.96 million, consisting of P10.13 million worth of properties and P4.83 million in cars, cash and investments, jewelry.
Corona declared land in Quezon City worth P5.13 million donated to him 1970; a P2-million house in Quezon City constructed in 1976; and a P3-million land in Quezon City acquired in 1992.
In 2003, Corona’s assets went up to P18.359 million as the value of his properties went up. He declared liabilities of P11 miilion.
He listed a P921,080 condominium unit in Quezon City, which he was paying on installment and a lot worth P3 million also in Quezon City.
In 2004, the same assets were declared but he also declared liabilities worth P11 million representing a cash advance from his family-owned real estate company, Basa-Guidote Enterprise Inc.
For 2005, the assets remained the same and he recorded liabilities worth P10 million representing yet another cash advance from Basa-Guidote.
In 2006, his assets went up to P17.559 million and recorded liabilities amounting to P8 million for a total net worth of P9.559 million.
In 2007, the same amount of assets were declared with liabilities amounting to P6.5 million for a total net worth of P11.059 million.
In 2008, the assets remained the same at P17.559 million with liabilities amounting to P5 million for a total net worth of P12.559.
For 2009, his assets were still recorded at P17.559 million while liabilities amounted to P3 million for a total net worth of P14.559 million.
In 2010, the net worth of Corona shot up to P22.938 million as he listed three new condominium units - one in Makati City (P1.210 million), and two in Taguig City (P2.369 million and P6.8 million).
The cost of all the listed properties were based on the fair market value listed by Corona in his SALN.
