MANILA, Philippines - A 40-year-old security guard from San Jose del Monte, Bulacan claimed yesterday the P47,959,961 jackpot prize of the Oct. 17 Mega Lotto draw of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the winner, who is married and has two children, hit the six-digit combination (09-07-22-16-10-40) by lucky pick or having the computer select the number combination.
The winner, who bought a P20 ticket from a lotto outlet in Novaliches, reportedly intends to donate a portion of his winnings to the church and will use some of the money to pay for his family’s low-cost housing. The remaining amount will be put in the bank.
Just last month, another lotto winner, who hit the P72,537,879 jackpot prize of the Grand Lotto game, bought the lucky ticket along Lagasca corner Luis streets also in Novaliches.
That winner, however, has not claimed his or her prize.
