Manila, Philippines - Not only was her naked photos posted on the social networking site Facebook, but she also found her name “tagged” in the incriminating pictures uploaded by her ex-boyfriend.
After finding out what happened, the 23-year-old woman sought assistance from authorities, resulting in the arrest of her former lover.
The former boyfriend, Romulo Frondozo, was charged with violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act and the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act, according to Superintendent Audie Madrideo, commander of the Quezon City Police District-Station2.
The former lovers are both residents of Quezon City – the woman resides in Barangay Sta. Cruz in San Francisco del Monte, while the suspect lives in Barangay Commonwealth.
Madrideo said the woman and the 21-year-old suspect broke up last April after being lovers for about 10 months.
But on the morning of May 17, the woman found out that her naked photographs had been posted on the popular social networking site.
“She (complainant) found out about it because her name was ‘tagged’ in those photos,” Madrideo said in an interview yesterday, referring to the practice of placing the name of the persons in the pictures posted by the one who uploaded them.
The suspect also sent text messages to the woman, threatening her about maligning her before she found out about the posted photos of her.
Madrideo said the victim managed to convince her former boyfriend to meet up with her and then go with her to her house, where she sought assistance from village authorities, resulting in the suspect’s arrest.
The suspect was then eventually turned over to the police.
