MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has appointed Catherine Mary Biazon, wife of defeated Liberal Party senatorial candidate Rufino Biazon, as a member of the board of directors of the John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC), Malacañang announced yesterday.
JHMC is a subsidiary corporation under the Bases Conversion and Development Authority mandated to protect the forest reservation area within Camp John Hay in Baguio City.
Biazon is currently the chief of staff of her father-in-law, Muntinlupa Rep. Rodolfo Biazon.
The President also appointed businessman Jose Leviste Jr. to the governing council of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and National Resources Research and Development (PCARRD ) to represent the private sector until June 30 this year.
Leonardo Angeles was named PCARRD council member to serve until June 30, 2012 along with Feliciano Calora Sr. who will serve until June 30 this year.
Jose Maria Ochave was appointed member of the governing council of the Presidential Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), representing the private sector until March 30, 2012; Enrico Gruet as PCHRD council member until March 30 this year; Mediadora Claudio-Saniel as PCHRD council member until March 30, 2012; Rhodora Azanza, Marcelo Blando, Ma. Lourdes Florendo and Kenneth Hartigan-Go, Antonio Jamon, Ma. Cristina Padolina, Eufemio Rasco Jr. and Victor Venida as members of the National Committee on Biosafety of the Philippines (NCBP) until Dec. 18, 2013.
Minda Formacion was appointed member of the governing council of the Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Resources Research and Development (PCAMRD), representing the academe, until June 30, 2012; Luis Maria Garcia, as PCAMRD council member representing the academe until June 30, 2012; Ramon Macaraig, Augusto Natividad, and Phillip Ong as PCAMRD council members, representing the private sector, until June 30, 2012.
Louis Napoleon Casambre, Alma Madrazo, Marita Reyes, Antonio Villaflor, and Aniceto Villahermosa were named members of the governing council of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development, for a term of two years.
Benjamin Santiago III was appointed acting assistant regional director of the Land Transportation Office, and Villamor Villa as acting director III of the Department of National Defense.
