MANILA, Philippines - Vice president-elect Jejomar Binay will meet with outgoing Vice President Noli de Castro tomorrow to get pointers on handling his new position.
Makati City Information and Community Relations Department (ICRD) director Joey Salgado said the two will meet at 3 p.m. at the Office of the Vice President at the Philippine National Bank building in Pasay City.
They will discuss the programs of the Office of the Vice President, including the housing program for overseas Filipino workers.Binay is also expected to meet with former Vice President Teofisto Guingona and former President Joseph Estrada, who was also a vice president.
Binay earlier promised to prioritize housing projects for the poor.
Today, Binay is attending the 56th anniversary of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City. It will be Binay’s first meeting with the LCP since winning the vice presidency.“
He will thank them for their support and affirm his commitment to promote stronger local government as a vice president,” Salgado said.
Binay will also meet with the Makati Business Development Council (MBDC) at the Makati City Hall in the afternoon.
The MBDC, composed of the heads of various foreign chambers of commerce as well as heads of local and foreign corporations, has been Binay’s advisory body on business.
