MANILA, Philippines - Nearly half of Filipinos expect their lives to get better in the next 12 months, the latest survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.
The TV5-SWS Exit Poll, conducted last May 10, found that 49.7 percent of Filipinos are optimistic that their lives “will be better” in the coming 12 months while 23 percent expect their lives to be the same as last year.
A meager 1.8 percent of Filipinos expect their lives to get worse.
The remaining 25.6 percent of respondents refused to answer.
Half of Filipinos (52.5 percent) also believe that the economy “will be better” in the next 12 months.
Nineteen percent expect it to be the same while 2.5 percent expect it to get worse.
The remaining 26.1 percent of respondents could not give an answer or refused to answer.
The TV5-SWS exit poll had 52,573 respondents.
The poll was conducted in 802 voting centers nationwide, covering all provinces from Batanes to Tawi-Tawi.
