This Women’s Month, the Nacionalista Party (NP) has launched a new political advertisement featuring its women candidates portraying the different roles of women in Philippine society.
The infomercial, which started airing last Monday features NP vice presidential candidate Sen. Loren Legarda, and senatorial candidates Rep. Liza Maza, senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Pia Cayetano, OFW rights advocate Susan Ople, and family and children’s welfare advocate Gwen Pimentel.
NP standard-bearer Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. said he is proud that the party’s women candidates have clear platforms of governance for the welfare of women.
“I am really honored and privileged to have such amazing and high-achieving women in my team. They truly personify the new breed of women who play key roles in our society. Together, the lady candidates of NP will ensure that all the needs of Filipino women here and abroad are prioritized and addressed,” Villar said.
NP’s Legarda has expressed confidence that she will win the vice presidential race especially now that Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) founder and beer magnate Danding Cojuangco has pledged support for her candidacy.
“I knew from the beginning that the Cojuangco family and the NPC will never waiver, and I will not let them down. I will bring the party to victory,” Legarda said during a break in their campaign sortie in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Cojuangco’s son, Rep. Mark Cojuangco reportedly said: “We may not have a presidential aspirant in these elections, but the NPC has not wavered in its commitment to support Senator Legarda.”
Legarda was originally the vice presidential candidate of the NPC, but got the party’s blessing to ally with Villar’s NP after NPC standard-bearer Sen. Francis Escudero dropped out of the presidential race.
