No more destabilization in Makati, Yano assures traders

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Alexander Yano yesterday visited the Peninsula Manila, six months after rebel soldiers and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV took over the hotel, and assured business leaders that economic activity in the country’s financial district would not be hampered again by destabilization attempts.

This is because there are no new personalities that joined rebel factions in the military, aside from those who are already detained and charged before the general court-martial over their alleged involvement in past power grab attempts against the government, Yano said.

The AFP top brass, who was guest during the general membership meeting of the Management Association of the Philippines at the Makati hotel, said he is confident that such actions would not be repeated because of the steps taken by the military organization. – James Mananghaya
