ABS-CBN Foundation gets P30 M

Aiming to deliver better services to more Filipino children, one of the leading real estate developers in the country has donated P30 million to ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. (AFI) for the full renovation of its office building in Quezon City.

The AFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization established in 1989 that extends outreach programs to children, their families and communities.

Globe Asiatique president and chief executive officer Delfin Lee said their donation for the rehabilitation of the AFI building on Mother Ignacia street would boost the foundation’s efforts to provide better services not only for children but also for people in need of its services.

“We have seen the work of Gina Lopez, the managing director of ABS-CBN Foundation. We actually admire her mission in life, saving and helping others selflessly,” Lee said at the launching of the partnership at The Linden Suites in Ortigas, Pasig City Thursday night.

“I think it’s about time that AFI finds a partner, and we’re volunteering to be one, not only in the rehabilitation of (its) building but also in (its) other projects like Bantay Bata and Bantay Kalikasan,” Lee said.

The building houses the offices of AFI’s various programs like the child welfare program Bantay Bata 163, environment advocacy program Bantay Kalikasan, multimedia education provider E-Media, and the disaster response group Sagip Kapamilya.

Lopez said they are pleased with the partnership with Globe Asiatique and have long dreamed of fixing the building but they lacked resources.

“If you work in a better place you could do much better work… the foundation’s building is the nerve center of everything that we do in Bantay Bata, Bantay Kalikasan and many other things,” she said.
