25 key AFP officials reshuffled as Kyamko, Garcia retire

Twenty-five key officials in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were reshuffled in the wake of two senior military officials’ retirement.

The reshuffle was announced yesterday after it was approved by President Arroyo.

Vice Adm. Ariston de los Reyes was appointed Armed Forces vice chief of staff, a post vacated by retired Lt. Gen. Rodolfo Garcia.

Maj. Gen. Generoso Senga was named Armed Forces Southern Command chief in place of Lt. Gen. Roy Kyamko, who retires today.

The post of De los Reyes as deputy chief of staff has been given to Maj. Gen. Edilberto Adan, Philippine Military Academy (PMA) superintendent.

Maj. Gen. Cristolito Baloaing, commander of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division, was named to the PMA.

Maj. Gen. Hermogenes Esperon is now commander of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division, and Brig. Gen. Pedro Ramboanga, commander of the Philippine contingent to Iraq, was named AFP deputy chief for operations.

The post of deputy chief for intelligence was given to Commodore Tirso Danga, head of the Intelligence Service of the AFP (ISAFP).

Brig. Gen. Antonio Romero is the new AFP deputy chief for comptrollership and Brig. Gen. Carlito Gamit was appointed deputy commander of the National Capital Region Command (NCRC).

Navy Capt. Amable Tolentino was designated LOLA chief, while Col. Manuel Llena was appointed judge advocate general (JAG).

Brig. Gen. Alexander Yapching was named commander of the Army’s 101th Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.

Some of the other promotions include: Col. Nehemias Pajarito, commander of the 104th Infantry Brigade; Brig. Gen. Jose Nano, commander of the Air Force’s Air Logistics and Support Command; Col. Oscar de Guzman, wing commander of the 15th Strike Wing; Brig. Gen. Fernando Doriao, wing commander of the 520th Air Wing; Navy Capt. Ruperto Rico Borromeo, commander of joint task force Malampaya. Jaime Laude, Roel Pareño
