Six and a half percent of adults were without work in September, which is half of the 12.2 percent in June, the results of the survey showed.
The poll was conducted by respected pollster Social Weather Stations (SWS). It has an error margin of plus or minus three percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
Unemployment among males declined to five percent from 8.3 percent in June. Among females, it was 9.9 percent from 19.6 percent.
SWS interviewed 1,200 adults for the quarterly poll. It defined "adult unemployment" as persons at least 18 years of age who were not working but looking for work at the time the survey was conducted.
