Soliven holds book signing

"Being literate does not guarantee the protection of human rights but it gives one a fighting chance." With this in mind, Dr. Preciosa S. Soliven wrote the book entitled "The Pagsasarili Mothercraft Literacy Course for Local & Overseas Filipino Working Women," a complete illustrated English-Tagalog guide for good grooming and hygiene, housekeeping, child care, cooking and food service convertible to business.

The book is a result of an almost two-decade implementation of the Mothercraft Project in the various provinces in the Philippines sponsored and undertaken by the Operation Brotherhood Montessori Child and Community Foundation. It aims to elevate the status of women, develop their potentials to the fullest and keep them economically self-sufficient.

On Sept. 7, 2002 Dr. Preciosa S. Soliven, in cooperation with Goodwill Bookstore, will talk about her book and hold a book signing at the Goodwill Bookstore booth, Megatrade Hall at 5 in the afternoon. This UNESCO-sponsored book is priced at P250 and is available in all Goodwill Bookstore and O.B. Montessori Center branches.
