Davao City Rep. Prospero Nograles lost his Mitsubishi Pajero to five unidentified car thieves the other night in Quezon City.
Senior Police Officer 1 Ruben Reyes said the incident occurred Tuesday between 8:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. in Barangay Laging Handa.
Nograles driver, Hipolito Guardaquino, 26, told police that he parked the congressmans 2000 model midnight blue automatic luxury vehicle in front of Kim Hong restaurant on Tomas Morato Avenue and Scout Gandia street at around 8:45 p.m.
But Guardaquino said that when he returned about an hour and a half later, the vehicle was nowhere to be found.
Witnesses told probers that five unidentified men arrived in front of Kim Hong Restaurant at around 10 p.m. on board a white Mitsubishi Lancer.
Four of the suspects, all wielding handguns, immediately alighted from the Lancer and took the Pajero, then sped away.
Some months ago, Nograles was implicated in an alleged sex scandal with a host of a television show when they were reportedly caught in flagrante delicto in a Davao hotel.
This led to his being tagged "Burlesk King," an issue which prompted the congressman to deliver a privilege speech at the House of Representatives denouncing rumor-mongering.
Nograles and his alleged partner, Jeanette Leuterio, who is married to a policeman, eventually filed libel charges against a tabloid and a radio station for allegedly maligning their reputations.
