However, NBI Director Reynaldo Wycoco refused to give details or say who killed lawyer Ted Gonzales, his wife Loiva and their daughter Clodine.
"Let the (Sydney, Australia police officers) who solved the case announce it, it is the protocol," he said.
Wycoco had sent lawyer Rickson Chiong, NBI Cordillera regional director, to Australia recently to coordinate with the Sydney police in the investigation of the Gonzales murder case.
The NBI Cordillera regional office has jurisdiction over Baguio City, where the Gonzales family lived before emigrating to Australia in 1991.
Gonzales, 46, was found stabbed to death in the hallway by his son Sef, 20, who returned to the familys home in the suburb of North Ryde before midnight July 10.
The mother, Mary Josephine Loiva, 43, was found by the son in the living room of the two-story home and 18-year-old sister Clodine in an upstairs bedroom with their throats cut. Jose Aravilla
