The former chairman of the Presidential Commission on Y2K Compliance, Amable Aguiluz IV, said yesterday he is still most willing to contribute in any way as a private individual to the development efforts of President Estrada despite his sad experience in the commission.
Aguiluz resigned from his post out of delicadeza following charges that he had used his clout as commission head to favor Millennium Solutions Corp., which he allegedly owned.
Appearing before the Y2K congressional oversight committee, Aguiluz said there is nothing on record, except a newspaper report, to show that he was guilty of conflict of interest.
He cited the decision of the Office of the Ombudsman clearing him of any violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
