Noni juice gets BFD clearance

The Bureau of Food and Drugs has approved the Hawaiian Island Noni Juice as a food supplement after an exclusive distributor complied with requirements proving that the product is safe.

Hawaiian Island Noni Juice, a pleasant tasting tropical juice derived from 100 percent Hawaiian-grown noni with full of vitamins and healing vitality, will be distributed by Nature's Quest Sales International, Salcedo Village, Makati City.

Hawaiian noni is obtained from only the ripe fruit of the plant, wild and organically grown in the island state with its rich volcanic soil beneficial to all plants. This small evergreen tree is found mostly in open coastal regions at sea level and in forest areas up to about 1,300 ft above sea level.

It is also found often growing abundantly along lava flows. While there are other varieties of noni that exist in other countries, the Hawaiian-grown noni plants are touted as the best due to the territory's comparatively clean and less polluted environs.
