Alexander Skarsgård from vampire to 'Tarzan'

MANILA, Philippines- From playing the role of a vampire in "True Blood," Alexander Skarsgård will give life to one of the most-loved storybook character "Tarzan."

Skarsgård will play the role of Tarzan, who has been years out of the jungle and now known as John Clayton III and married to Jane (Margot Robbie).

He will be invited back to the jungle to serve as a trade emissary of the Parliament. Unknown go him, the people who sent him led by Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz) have evil plans against him.

However, the greedy and revengeful group of Captain Rom will be surprised how their plot will turn out against them.

Also starring in the new Tarzan film are Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, and John Hurt.

Several members of the "Harry Potter" movie production are also part of the new Tarzan movie including producer David Barron, production designer Stuart Craig, and editor Mark Day.

Also part of the team are director of photography Henry Braham (“The Golden Compass”) and costume designer Ruth Myers (“Emma,” “Unknown”).

"Tarzan" is directed by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Director David Yates. It will play in cinemas July 1, 2016.
