MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actress Ashley Ortega hopes that her relationship with fellow Kapuso actor Mavy Legaspi will lead to a lasting commitment.
The couple is set to celebrate their second anniversary on October 27, with Ortega saying she is happy that their relationship remains strong.
During her guest appearance on the GTV talk show “KALURKS!,” Ashley shared Mavy’s plans for their anniversary celebration.
“Dinner lang naman, hindi naman kailangan sobrang bongga,” she said.
“I’m just happy na ang tagal na pala namin, two years na rin pala ang nakalipas. So, going strong and I’m happy,” she added.
Asked whether they have discussed marriage and starting a family, Ashley said she had been upfront about wanting a long-term relationship since Mavy was courting her.
“Kami ni Mavy, when he was still courting me, sinabi ko naman na, syempre, I’m not getting any younger. What I want in a partner, in a relationship, is ‘yung pang long term na, hopefully,” she said.
However, the actress clarified that marriage is not yet a priority for them as both continue to focus on their respective careers.
“Pero right now kasi hindi pa naman namin pinag-uusapan na, ‘Are we gonna get married?’ Wala pa kasi priority pa namin is ‘yung career namin,” she said.
Ashley noted that Mavy, who is younger than her, still has many career goals to pursue. She also has her own ambitions, including growing a business she recently started.
Despite not having concrete plans for marriage, Ashley admitted that she hopes Mavy will be the person she spends the rest of her life with.
“Pero, siyempre, sinabi ko naman sa kanya na, of course, if sana pinagdadasal ko rin na, siyempre, gusto ko na ‘yung partner ko ngayon, which is si Mavy, na ‘yun na sana,” she said.
“Kasi ang hirap naman if you gonna go back to zero again,” she added.
