MANILA, Philippines — The fifth and final season of Netflix's hit series, "Stranger Things," will premiere in 2025 and consist of eight episodes.

The streaming platform made the announcement on November 6, coined by fans as "Stranger Things Day," as it was on that fictional day in 1983 that Noah Schnapp's Will Byers went missing during the show's first season.

Netflix did not indicate the date when "Stranger Things" Season 5 would come out, though a third quarter release is likely and it would likely be set in 1987.

The show previously teased that the fifth season's opening episode would be titled "The Crawl," and now the remaning seven episode titles were also revealed: "The Vanishing of _____," "The Turnbow Trap," "Sorcerer," "Shock Jock," "Escape From Camazotz," "The Bridge," and "The Rightside Up."

"Stranger Things" intentionally left out a part of the second episode's title as a surprise, which appears to be a nod to the very first episode titled "The Vanishing of Will Byers."

The final episode title, meanwhile, mirrors The Upside Down — also the episode title of the Season 1 finale — where a majority of the series may take place.

The fifth season will pick up a year after the Season 4 finale, where Jamie Campbell Bower's Vecna opened a gate to the Upside Down to split Hawkins, Indiana into four grim parts.

New cast members include Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and "The Terminator" star Linda Hamilton.
