MANILA, Philippines — Kris Aquino said that she and politician Mark Leviste are now a closed chapter in her life, and that a Makati-based doctor is part of the reasons why she is confident that she can go home to the Philippines at the latter part of the year.
Kris sat with Ogie Diaz for the latter's YouTube vlog titled "Kris Aquino, nahihirapan na nga ba sa kanyang sakit?" uploaded late Saturday night.
The actress-host said it was the second time she granted an interview to "special" people, the first was with her dear friend and former co-host Boy Abunda back in February.
Her youngest son, James, or more popularly known as Bimby, initially took the seat for an interview with Ogie, but Kris volunteered to sit with him after he was asked about his mother's love life.
"Yes, definitely walang balikan na mangyayari," said Kris, referring to Mark.
"Siguro kasi February, so March, April, May, June, pa-July na tayo. Magpa-five months na 'yan. Ang tagal na nu'n Ogie.
"Para malaman lang ng tao, nagkalabuan na magmula November and then sinubukang ayusin pero may mga nalaman ako na hindi ko gusto.
"Ayoko na magsabi more than that kasi part of the reason why it did not work out is I’m at the stage in my life na mas gusto ko nang tahimik," Kris said.
Earlier in the interview, her son Bimby confirmed that she and Mark were no longer together since before Kris' birthday last February 14.
"Hindi sila nagkasundo nu'ng ex [Mark and Bimby]. Hindi niya gusto eh," Kris revealed, which prompted Bimby to say he tried to be polite earlier when he was asked about her ex.
"I know, but I'm telling the truth," Kris replied.
She continued, "It matters to me because he [Bimby] knows me best. Siya at si kuya [Josh], ‘yung opinion nila really matters.”
The host said that she believes that her children's love for her is pure, and that influenced her. Bimby also made her realize that what she might have felt for her ex was not really love, but she was just sad.
"I feel like we both tried, but I think, tama 'yung sinabi ni Bimb. I'd like to say we're still friendly pero at a distance na," Kris said.
No overlap
She also squashed any possibilities of reuniting with Mark. Ogie asked her if he had tried to woo her again.
"Kung sumusubok man, sarado na 'yung pinto... I wish him the best and I'm sure he also wishes me well. But I wanted to clarify lang kasi people might have the wrong impression," Kris said.
"It's been four months and maybe more. Gusto ko mag move-on and I think I have. And I never confirmed publicly sa kanya naman nanggaling lahat and 'yun 'yung hindi ko rin gusto. 'Di ba parati niyang sinasabi na ang mga artista daw or mga celebrity, umaamin lang 'pag tapos na?" she added.
"So siguro ang maganda, hindi rin naman ako nagsalita nu'ng kami ngayon sabihin ko na lang kasi patuloy pang may mga lumalabas. So, sana tumigil na and 'wag na lang siyang tanungin kung kamusta ako kasi hindi din naman niya alam kung kamusta naman talaga ako kasi wala nang communication apart from 'Thank You' and 'Gob bless,'" the Queen of All media said, quipping that Ogie knows more about her life than her ex.
Kris clarified about the new man in her life.
"Hindi naman love life but it just flowed. Nangyari. He's a doctor and I think that's part of the reason why it was easy kasi alam niya kung anong pinagdadaanan ko. He's part of the reason why I'm confident na pwede akong umuwi kasi alam ko na there's someone who will help in taking care of me," Kris said.
"So obviously by saying that, he's a doctor based in the Philippines," she said, and later added he is based in Makati.
She reiterated that there was no overlap between her ex Mark and the new guy.
"Can I just say, may malaking gap naman. Hindi naman sila magkasabay at hindi siya ang dahilan nag-overlap. Walang overlap at hindi siya 'yung dahilan kung bakit hindi kami naging okay," she said.
Kris also explained why she felt comforable about her new flame.
"The reason siguro I felt comfortable about him is because I feel na aalagaan niya ako and important 'yun sa taong may nararamdaman na mahirap gamutin. Kasi you need someone na pwede mong sandalan. 'Yun lang 'yun siguro," she said.
Kris also revealed in the earlier part of the interview that she is hopeful that she can return to the country within this year. She is currently in California seeking treatment for her autoimmune diseases.
"Hopefully sa last quarter ng taon bago mag-Pasko, I'll be back in the Philippines. It just really depends kasi may mga pagdadaanan akong mga tests," Kris said. — Video from Ogie Diaz YouTube channel
