It’s good to note that the local television sphere has been busy with yet again new noontime shakeups. TV5, being the second biggest broadcast network now, is solidifying its upward trajectory in winning the hearts of free TV audiences with a fresh offering.
This week, a new universe has been introduced on television, and it’s the game show, “Barangay Singko Panalo.” A slew of major shows were introduced in the Kapatid neighborhood, and a mini-trade event was even held in Taguig with long-time advertising partners to give them dibs on the latest at TV5.
Last March 11, the game show was launched. It is the pre-programming show of “Frontline Pilipinas” that is meant to strengthen the primetime block as it gives away P100,000, from Mondays to Fridays, at 5:30 p.m.
It is a triple-threat program, as hosts Jerald Napoles and Kayla Rivera are there to act, sing, dance, and host while they introduce the challenges to contestants.
Last Sunday at 4:30 p.m., News5’s “Budol Alert” was also launched, with News5 Chief Luchi Cruz Valdes at the helm of the program with select reporters.
“‘Budol’ is the one thing that threatens us all. Mayaman, mahirap, walang pangangailangan ay nabubudol. Kapag natumbok nila weakness mo, nako pwedeng money, pwedeng pera, kung ano, ano eh, di ba?” Cruz Valdes shared.
The latest news personality to join the ever-growing News5 roster is the iconic Marc Logan with his new show, “TOP 5 Kwentong Marc Logan.” His show is launching on April 6 at 6:15 p.m. The next day, Sen. Raffy Tulfo is returning to free TV at 6:15 p.m. and with his new show, “Kapatid Mo, Idol Mo, Raffy Tulfo.”
Recently, there has been a photo circulating that Willie Revillame had a meeting with Mediaquest and TV5 bosses, with rumors that it will be a back-to-back show with “Eat, Bulaga.”
While there is no certainty about that, on April 8, it’s Kiko Estrada and Sarah Lahbati’s “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa” that will be the show after “Eat, Bulaga.”
It does not stop there though because in May, Miles Ocampo is set to have her solo lead show with APT and TV5’s collab which is “Padyak Princess.”
Miles told us that she got emotional when the project was confirmed.
“Naiyak po talaga ako. Sabi ko, ‘Sure po ba kayo na para sa akin yan?’ Pero sobrang blessed and grateful ako sa TV5 na ipagkatiwala ito.”
“Padyak Princess” will be a daily show with the timeslot yet to be confirmed.
There’s also going to be a show with Maine Mendoza and Zanjoe Marudo coming in May, and no, they won’t be an item in it.
That would be weird considering Maine is married to Arjo Atayde, whose sister Ria is set to marry Zanjoe. Maine and Zanjoe will be siblings in the show.
Last but not least are the Muhlachs, today’s showbiz royalty family. Finally, we shall be seeing Andres Muhlach more on the small screen, given that anything the boy does trends online.
Same for Atasha, too, but when we spoke to the whole family, it was certain that dad Aga and Andres were extra protective of her. Mom Charlene Gonzalez joked, “Nako bantay sarado iyan.”
We cannot wait for Da Pers Family, that is the team behind Aga’s ‘90s hit sitcom “Okidokidok.” For now, here is what Charlene shared about the show, “We’re tackling about mga issues na pinagdadaanan ng pamilyang Pilipino.”
Aga added, “Binubuo rin kasi namin nila Randy Reyes, ano, mga writers ko before sa ‘Okidokidok’ with sila Bayani Agbayani.”
