SZA’s Kill Bill leads today’s hitmakers

Who is SZA and why has she become the darling of the global hit charts today? I say it is mainly because her latest single Kill Bill puts into song, feelings that almost every woman in the history of the world across all generations is familiar with.

Kill Bill has this refrain: “I might kill my ex/ not the best idea/ his new girlfriend’s next/ how’d did I get here/ I might kill my ex/ I still love him though/ rather be in jail then alone….” Waaah!!!

By the time you get towards the end of the literally explosive video that is so wickedly delicious to watch, SZA has indeed killed her ex Bill and his girlfriend, too, and is licking his bloody, dismembered heart to show for it. “I’d rather be in hell than alone.” Yucky! Yucky!

I am no saint, so like most females there have been times when I had felt that way in the past. I harbored the urge of wanting to kill my ex and his girlfriend, too, if there happened to be one.But I never followed up on it nor did I put those feelings into song. SZA did and she made No. 1.  And globally at that. Applause from girls everywhere. Think about earning all those royalties out of getting one’s heart broken.

SZA must be the most exciting music artist of today. She is a rare one whose music combines critical acclaim with commercial appeal and is also the complete package.

That means she also has the voice, sweet but strong, the looks, baby doll features under massive hair, the style, gorgeously uninhibited, and all of those crowned by innate intelligence and the confidence to navigate the myriad ways around the studio and the entire music industry.

SZA was born Solana Imani Rowe. Her name SZA stands for Sovereign Zig Zag Allah. She is 33 years old. She probably has the most impressive collab resume I have ever seen. She has made music with Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Kendrick Lamar, Doja Cat, Summer Walker, DJ Khaled, Justin Timberlake, Ty Dolla Sign and others.

SZA has released two albums both of which were unanimously acclaimed by music critics and which were also easy platinum sellers. One is Ctrl which Time Magazine named Album of the Year for 2017 and which landed in Rolling Stone magazine’s Greatest Albums of All Time. It includes the singles Love Galore and Drew Barrymore.

SZA’s latest is SOS, which contains Kill Bill as well as her other hit singles Snooze and Nobody Gets Me, plus Good Days, I Hate U, Shirt and others. The album has been No. 1 in the Billboard. Top 200 Albums list for five weeks straight  and all because she wants to Kill Bill.
