MANILA, Philippines — Back in 2017, when Disney was still casting the actors who would play its 2019 live-action film "Aladdin," Zayn Malik of British boyband One Direction was among fans' dream choices for the lead role.
Although the role eventually went to Mena Massoud, Disney tapped Malik to still do the cover of the film's most famous songs, "A Whole New World."
