MANILA, Philippines — History Channel’s “Ancient Aliens” host Giorgio Tsoukalos believes that there are only two types of magic in the world: falling in love and childbirth.
In an interview with Philstar.com during the recent History Con event in World Trade Center in Pasay City, Tsoukalos said that apart from falling in love and childbirth, everything people cannot explain falls under “misunderstood technology” like the superpowers of mythological characters in the past.
In the Philippines, he claimed that the Indarapatra epic of the Maranaos is “100 percent ancient astronaut related stuff.”

Quoting British science writer Arthur C. Clarke, Tsoukalos said: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable for magic.”
“Any other type of magic is not real magic; it’s a trick, it’s technology,” Tsoukalos claimed.
He added that magicians like David Copperfield and David Blaine do not know how to create magic.
“They don’t actually have divine or spiritual powers. They know how to trick people, they know how to create illusion and that is done with the help of technology,” he said.
Tsoukalos explained that misunderstood technology was witnessed by people from the past, but they cannot explain it because of their technological limitations at that time.
“Misunderstood technology essentially suggests our ancestors witnessed something that they could not explain not because of their intellect but because of their technological frame of reference which is more infinitely more primitive than what our technological frame of reference is today. Our ancestors would not talk about these things if they didn’t witness something,” he noted. — Video by EC Toledo IV
