MANILA, Philippines – Former movie producer BGen Alejandro Escano (photo), now president and chairperson of TEVSAPHIL (Technical Vocational Schools and Associations of the Philippines), announced recently the holding of the fourth TVET National Congress to be held on Nov. 12 at SM Aura in Taguig City.
The whole day event will have senator and Presidentiable Miriam Defensor Santiago as special guest of honor and speaker.
Other speakers include Sen. Cynthia Villar who will speak on Tech-Voc Education in Agriculture and Economy; Sen. Sonny Angara (Enhancing Effectiveness and Sustainability of Tech-Voc Education Private and Public); Rep. Roman Romulo (The Role of Tech-Voc in the Economic Development of the Philippines); Colombo Plan Staff College Prof. Dr. G. Kalanthaivel (Transitioning Millennium Development Goals in Tech-Boc Education in the Philippines); Australian Commissioner Anthony Weymouth (Trans-National Education in Tech-Voc in Asia-Pacific Region); Juan Miguel del Rosario (Emerging Digital Technology in Tech-Voc Education); and Prof. Edwin Monares (Initiatives on Research and Development Program in Tech-Voc Education).
TESDA OIC-DG Irene Isaac will deliver the keynote speech with Role of TESDA in K+12 Implementation and Mandate in the Development and Sustainability of TVET Industry as topic.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano will deliver the welcome address.
The theme of the congress is Towards Development and Sustainability of the Private Sector TVET Industry in the K+12 Environment and Beyond.
