MANILA, Philippines - Pilita Corrales (above) headlines Harana Sa Dapit Hapon tomorrow afternoon, July 29, starting at 4:30 at the Bulwagang Nicanor Abelardo, Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), with tenor Miguel Castro (below) as co-performer.
Presented by the CCP and the Tribung Pilipino Foundation headed by Danny Dolor (bottom), the Harana is on its fourth edition (Ikaapat na Yugto) originally set for July 10 but was cancelled due to bad weather. It features traditional Filipino music (kundiman, harana, balitaw and danza).
Dolor, who is behind Remember When, a widely-followed Sunday column in The STAR’s Entertainment Section, is highly esteemed for his unwavering support for Philippine culture and the arts. As one of the recipients of the Dangal Ng Haraya Award from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), he is cited for “keeping alive the flame of his passion for Filipiniana.”
Harana is open to the public.
