MANILA, Philippines - As we celebrate Original Pilipino Music (OPM) week this month, CNN Philippines anchor Mitzi Borromeo (far right) sits down with Hajji Alejandro (right), the man behind the OPM songs Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika, Nakapagtataka and Panakip Butas in Profiles.
Born Angelito Toledo Alejandro, Hajji started his music career as a college singer with the Circus Band in the ’70s. In 1977, he won the grand title at the Metro Pop Song Festival. He earned the title Kilabot ng Kolehiyala after winning the hearts of many college girls with his charm and voice.
He eventually went solo and became one of the major pop stars in the OPM scene.
