MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of Hair Asia’s 25th anniversary, Evelyn Alvaran-Cruz has worked long and hard to come up with the special issue that befits the milestone that Hair Asia is celebrating. It also gives tribute to its loyal readers and partners in the beauty industry through the years.
Gracing her first magazine cover since her fairy-tale wedding to her real-life Prince Charming Dingdong Dantes, is Marian Rivera-Dantes. It is Marian’s third time to headline the Hair Asia issue. Evelyn said, “I, personally, can’t think of anyone else who has the same timeless quality to their beauty and countenance as Marian which makes her the perfect face to be on the cover of our silver issue.”
Hair Asia’s cover spread draws inspiration from the theme of its silver anniversary celebration and 25th National Open Championship for Hairstyling and Makeup Competition at the World Trade Center, titled Meet me in Paris. The entire cover shoot was done at the historic Luneta Hotel. The hotel, completed in 1919, was designed by the Spanish architect-engineer Salvador Farre, and is the only remaining example of in the Philippines. “This is why we knew it would be the perfect location to hold the photo-shoot because the elements in and around Luneta Hotel would effortlessly echo the romantic feel of Paris,” Evelyn said.
Bambbi Fuentes outdid himself in styling Marian’s 1920s look, taking care of every detail right down to her Jewelmer pearls and classic Coco Chanel couture.
Marian personally unveiled the magazine last March 3 at the World Trade Center.
