(UPDATE) Reports: Jolo Revilla 'shot' but alive

MANILA, Philippines -  Cavite Vice Gov. and actor Jolo Revilla was taken to the hospital after reportedly sustaining a gunshot wound on the right chest.

Various reports quoted Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla as saying that Jolo is “alive” after he was rushed to the Asian Hospital in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

According to Atty. Raymund Fortun, Jolo was cleaning a gun when he accidentally pulled the trigger which caused the wound on his right chest, "GMA News TV Live" reported.

According to DZMM, Jolo's representative Clifford Elorde said that the incident happened this morning at the house of his mother, Congresswoman Lani Mercado in Ayala, Alabang.

He is now safe, but staying at the intensive care unit of the hospital.

His father Senator Bong Revilla, Jr., who is currently detained due to graft charges, already knows about the incident.
