MANILA, Philippines - The political heat is on, and satirist-impersonator Willie Nepomuceno (photo), known for his humorous presentation of social ills and political issues, presents The Votes of the Philippines on Feb. 20 and 21, 8:30 p.m. at Music Museum, Greenhills.
He is presenting a parallel ratings game by spoofing popular reality show The Voice of the Philipppines. Participants are presidential hopefuls who will belt out their political agenda through their song of choice and will be judged by lookalikes of apl.de.ap, Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo (the ABS-CBN show’s panel of judges).
Willie Nep will also pay tribute to his favorite band — The Beatles — in a trivia-filled act that will trace the band’s emergence from a small bar in Liverpool to the British Invasion of the music world and its conquest of the music industry.
Willie Nep will also do an impression of each Beatle and present a throwback medley featuring the Fab Four.
Also to be featured are glib presidential sister Kris Aquino (played by Frida Nep) and a peek inside the cell of the three senators awaiting their day in court, to include alleged benefactor Janet Napoles (also played by Frida).
A surprise guest will cap the show with heaven-sent inspirational messages.
Tickets are available at the Music Museum and Ticketworld outlets.
