MANILA, Philippines - Karylle (photo) gave inspiration during her talk at TEDxManila last Jan. 10 at the jam-packed Institute of Biology Auditorium of UP Diliman. Karylle spoke about the “Power of Invitation.”
The It’s Showtime host’s co-speakers were advocates Illac Diaz, Fr. Xavier Alipasa, Prim Paypon, Sam Bloch and Taken By Cars.
TEDxManila is a localized version of TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), an academic organization that conducts invitation-only conferences yearly (called Ted Talks), seeking to spark discussions, spread inspiration and share ideas.
Some of the most powerful and influential people in the world have taken part at TED Talks in other countries, such as Bill Clinton, Malcolm Gladwell, Al Gore and Bill Gates.
Karylle is known for her charitable works, having been a supporter of ChildHaus, an institution that takes care of kids with cancer for the past 10 years.
