MANILA, Philippines - Valerie Weigmann had a good run in the Miss World 2014 pageant held in London on Sunday.

But the crown eventually went to South Africa’s Rolene Strauss as she bested 120 other contestants.

Strauss was an early favorite in the competition, with a solid performance in the pageant’s preliminary events.
