A compelling set from popular groundbreaking musical act Up Dharma Down highlighted the celebration of recognized Apple and peripherals retailer, service provider, and trainer Power Mac Center’s 20th anniversary, held recently at the Ayala Museum in Makati City. Other Apple celebrity users joined the event attended by partners, members of the press, and bloggers.
Up Dharma Down performed the so-called Sync Session, where its members made music using iPads and peripherals hooked into an Apple ecosystem. Vocalist Armi Millare revealed in between songs that she even wrote a song on her iPhone and e-mailed it to her bandmates.
Meanwhile, in an exclusive interview with The STAR, popular music and TV personality Rico Blanco, also present at the event, admitted how big a fan he is of the Apple brand.
“It’s a testament to what Apple means to me to have the Mac as my main machine for my digital/audio workstation. I’ve been using Macs for more than 10 years now — whether a notebook or my iMac i7,” he said. “I’ve been using Logic Pro (a digital audio workstation and MIDI sequencer software application) for maybe eight years now.”
Before Apple’s considerable array of powerful tools for musicians, Blanco shared that he had to assemble his own machines or ask people to buy stuff for him in Hong Kong. “There were very little options back then,” he lamented.
The Power Mac Center’s event, dubbed 20 Sensational Years, looked back at the history of the Power Mac Center brand even as it promised to give back to customers. “We are committed to find meaningful ways to engage our valued clients and provide them a value-driven experience every time they shop at our store,” said Power Mac Center marketing director Joey Alvarez, who also announced the issuance of the 1 Infinite Card.
The rewards card allows loyal customers to earn points and gives them privileges and perks ranging from free preventive maintenance services to exclusive offers and deals. Four tiers are available — Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond — with each serving up its own point and rewards system.
Power Mac Center customers may also win any of 20 “epic experienced” interpreted into four categories: Thrill Seeker (for the adventurous or risk-taker), Savant (for the life-long learner and discoverer), Leisure Lover (for those who love the outdoors, traveling, or even “staycations”) and Epicurean (for those who enjoy the finest things in life).
“Power Mac Center has witnessed many successes that led us to become the leading innovator in the Apple business in the Philippines,” said Alvarez. “(We) will continue to optimize our capabilities to become the preferred Apple partner in the local market.”
Also seen at 20 Sensational Years were Kim Jones, Patty Laurel, Rovilson Fernandez, Paolo Valenciano, Sam Valenciano, Chienna Filomeno, Cesca Litton, Marc Nelson, Jinno Rufino and Sam YG.
