MANILA, Philippines - To health enthusiasts bitten by the fitness bug, PINOYFITNESS.com has become the go-to website for information on running, biking and multisport events. With traffic of over 500,000 page views per month, it has evolved into a community where like-minded individuals engage in lively discussions while some even go on to meet up and train together.
As an IT professional, Jeff Lo created PINOYFITNESS.com back in 2009 as an information page of different races.
From the hundreds of events in his listing, Jeff noticed that most are distance-based (5K, 10K, 21K, etc.). So in 2013, he launched the Pinoy Fitness Sub-1 10k Challenge (PF SUB-1), a 10K distance race with speed as a major component (finish 10K in one hour or less) as a test of the participant’s fitness level. Early this year, even more runners took on the PF SUB-1 10K Challenge 2014 and clamoured for a bigger challenge. Thus, the birth of the Pinoy Fitness 21K Challenge, which will happen on Nov. 16 in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Runners are challenged to complete a half-marathon with pre-defined cut-off times.
