MANILA, Philippines - May it be two-in-one, three-in-one, four-in-one or all-in-one, people are just always fascinated with having everything in one. It saves them energy and time, and gives them fun and satisfaction. When it comes to movies, this would be like the “All-Star Cast” films wherein popular actors are all cast in a single movie. Never mind the storyline or the number of times one’s favorite actor has appeared, just knowing that they are in it is already enough for viewers to come lining up. This kind of film doesn’t always come out that’s why when it does, it gets people excited. Here are some of the famous all-in-one movies — some loved and some not so well-received:
The Expendables. Need some men for a mission? Don’t worry. These guys are on the way to the rescue. The Expendables is made especially for fans of action films. The favorite action heroes are all in: Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis, Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke and many others. And there are even more in its sequel with Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
He’s Just Not That Into You. The basics and truths about dating — this is what this film is all about. It’s topbilled by famous actors such as Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Connelly and Scarlett Johansson. Imagine, learning something and being entertained by a great cast — now that is a movie to watch.
Love Actually. Christmas is coming and everything can happen. The romantic-comedy film is about the intertwining lives of several characters. It stars Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Alan Rickman and other actors.
Ocean’s Eleven. Danny Ocean has a special team that takes on daring missions. Each member has a special skill that collectively makes the group almost always successful. The film was a huge blockbuster at the time of its showing. How can it not be? When its cast is a favorite of many people: George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia and Julia Roberts — and they kept on adding stars as the sequels came out.
Mars Attacks! Earth being attacked by Martians, this has long been a subject of many sci-fi movies. However, Mars Attack! had made it into a comedy filled with top actors such as Jack Nicholson, Michael J. Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Pierce Brosnan, Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Danny DeVito, Martin Short and many others.
Sin City. Based on a comic series by Frank Miller, the film features stories about revenge, rebellion, heroic acts and lots of amazing actions. And as if that is not yet enough to make the film special, it boasts of an an all-star cast — Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood.
The Departed. The award-winning film is about the world of mobs and the complicated life of being part of it. As expected, it is full of action and drama. The movie stars biggies such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin.
The Grand Budapest Hotel. A concierge tries to prove his innocence after being accused of murder. Not only is the film set on a beautiful location, but it also stars the likes of Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Willem Defoe, Jude Law, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson.
Valentine’s Day. A film about different couples and singles trying to make the most of their lives, especially on Valentine’s Day. All the popular actors are in the film (and I can’t list them all here): Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley Maclaine and many more. A lot right?
New Year’s Eve. From the same director of Valentine’s Day, the movie has almost the same plot. New Year’s is coming soon, people get excited, fall in love and do crazy things in their lives. Just like Valentine’s Day, it also has a cast of famous celebrities such as Jessica Biel, Halle Berry, Jon Bon Jovi, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer and Hilary Swank.
