Mash-up of musical genres in 2014 SMB Oktoberfest

MANILA, Philippines - Beer and music lovers are in for a one-of-a-kind treat starting this month as San Miguel Brewery (SMB) rolls out this year’s San Miguel Oktoberfest featuring a never-before-seen mash-up of legendary rock bands, club DJs, mainstream bands and up-and-coming university bands.

Having staged unforgettable Oktoberfest celebrations in recent years that have featured, among others, an ultra-modern lights and sounds show, a beer pyramid and performances by major global acts, SMB will ramp up the fun in this year’s edition with a beer shower, a giant inflatable display, virtual sports game booths and non-stop music performances by topnotch musical artists, as revelers enjoy all nine world-class San Miguel Beer brands.

The 12-hour event will be held at Greenfield District Central Park in Mandaluyong tomorrow, Sept. 12, with simultaneous runs in One Mango Avenue, Cebu City and Laguna Central Greenfield City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Sept. 19.

Declared as an official Philippine tourism event, SMB’s Oktoberfest has always been known to provide the best in live entertainment for its customers.

This year’s line-up of performers cover a broad spectrum of musical genres that cut across all segments, led by Red Horse Beer’s brand evangelists Ely Buendia, Pepe Smith, Slapshock, Greyhoundz and Razorback, together with 6Cyclemind and Rivermaya.

DJs Mars Miranda, Ace Ramos and Deuce Manila will, meanwhile, keep the party going, together with top university bands.

Tickets are priced at P300 (with five cups of assorted beers) in the Manila kick-off, while P50 (with one cup of Pale Pilsen) in regional runs.
