MANILA, Philippines - In 1889, H.D. Lee started the production of an American brand of denim jeans in Salina, Kansas. This was the beginning of 125 years of denim heritage.
Through the years, Lee has been known in producing denim innovations, starting from work wear. The quest for purposeful designs led to the production of the Lee cover-alls. Lee also produced the first zipper-fly jeans.
To mark its 125th anniversary, Lee launched its Anniversary Archive Asian Tour which kicked off in Beijing, made a stop in Japan, and has stayed in the Philippines since May. The Lee archive tour goes onto Thailand, India and Australia.
Lee showcased raw talent inspired by 125 years of denim heritage as Lee Style Army favorites return to showcase designs as part of the anniversary archive exhibit. The talented roster also presented its designs inspired by Lee AW14 Collection for Philippine Fashion Week at SM Mall of Asia.
The event was graced by the Bb. Pilipinas beauties led by 2013 Miss International Bea Rose Santiago, and Asia’s Next Top Model finalists Jodilly Pendre and Katarina Rodriguez. The latter even took part in Lee’s runway show at SM Mall of Asia. Bianca Gonzalez hosted the culminating event at the Mall of Asia.
