Miss World Megan Young back in Haiti

MANILA, Philippines - Several months after she escaped unscathed when a school building collapsed during her visit to Haiti in November last year, Miss World Megan Young fulfills her promise to return to further help Haitian children whom she visited at an orphanage in Port-au-Prince. It happened last week. With Megan was Miss World head Julia Morley who sustained injuries during that accident that required surgery. During the recent trip, Megan and company also visited remote places to check on the progress of a ‘clean, potable water’ project and medical care for the locals.

A few weeks ago, Megan and Miss World-China Wenxia Yu (above, right) brought cheers to Filipinos in Hong Kong during the Globe Kababayan Jam staged at the Chater Garden. Globe and its CSL partner awarded four winners HK$5,000 each to purchase goods for their families back home. — Celso de Guzman Caparas
