The Pretty Reckless coming for concert on April 30

MANILA, Philippines - Last Tuesday, The Pretty Reckless delivered what could be described as the blue crystal meth of post-grunge with its sophomore record, Going to Hell. Taking on a heavier and darker approach to its signature rock ’n roll and blues sound, the New York quartet face its demons with shocking themes and sacrilegious lyrics scattered all throughout the record.

Frontwoman Taylor Momsen unleashes snapping snarls, brash screams and delicately seductive melodies that prove how much she has matured in skill with her surprising versatility over edgy instrumentals that have progressed since its debut. With its cry to break the doors of closed-mindedness, Going To Hell easily climbs up as one of the best records to hit selves this year.

2007 marked the inception of The Pretty Reckless. Three years later, it released the debut album Light Me Up, which received commercial success with singles My Medicine, Miss Nothing and Just Tonight but obtained great recognition for the work on radio hit, Make Me Wanna Die, which made it to the drama series, Gossip Girl; the superhero comedy film, Kick-Ass; The Vampire Diaries; and was featured as the runway soundtrack to the 2011 Victoria’s Fashion Show.

In 2012, it released a follow-up EP Hit Me Like A Man and a few months later, headlined the very first annual pop-rock music festival Bazooka Rocks at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. After two years on the road supporting Light Me Up, the band has risen through rock ‘n roll ranks to become a polarizing presence. Over the course of its debut and EP, the post-grunge quartet has sold over one million combined albums and digital singles and has supported Evanescence, Guns N’ Roses and Marilyn Manson on tour in addition to headline runs in both the US and abroad.

Momsen and her bandmates delivered nothing short of killer performances on their just-wrapped headlining North American Going To Hell Tour with a set list including new material off Going To Hell and the group’s debut LP Light Me Up. The Pretty Reckless is on tour in Europe with Fall Out Boy.

Going to Hell is now available for pre-order on iTunes and will be available locally through PULP Live Records at all leading records bars starting March 18.
