MANILA, Philippines- For the fourth time, Julia Fordham visits Philippines, a country which she considers as her “second home.â€
“The Filipino people continue to love and support my songs and my voice,†she said in an interview Tuesday afternoon, February 11. “So I’m romantic just like the Filipino people, so a concert in a beautiful venue on Valentine’s Day is a treat for people who love my songs and voice.â€
She even said that she’s interested to work with Filipino artists, even mentioning Niña who revived her song “Love Moves in Mysterious Ways.â€
But this year, Julia is not here just to have a concert. Yes, she’ll have a back-to-back conert, but it is for the benefit of typhoon Yolanda victims.
“You know I was so distraught after seeing the images of the victims,†she relates. “The people are suffering, we have to do something.
“They’ve supported me, so now I have to support them. So we ended up with this opportunity to help people with great spirits. And also support those who are still suffering the trauma of losing everything.â€
So in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Philippines and Natashaa Goulbourn Foundation, all the proceeds of her concert will go to these foundations to help them get over trauma and start their lives all over again.
Catch “Love Moves: Julia Fordham Live In Manila†on February 14 in Solaire Grand Ballroom, and February 15 at the lobby lounge of Shangri-La Hotel at 8 in the evening.
