Phil says Angel Locsin 'still in my heart’

MANILA, Philippines – Phil Younghusband admits he still has feelings for former girlfriend Angel Locsin, three months after their breakup.

Phil’s statement came at the same time Angel admitted in an ABS-CBN press conference that she still has feelings for her ex-boyfriend Luis Manzano.

“When you picture your future with someone and you love someone, you can’t get over them that easy. So I still care for Angel and she’s still in my heart. I still love her and she means a lot to me,” he told members of the press during the launch of Ayala Land’s Circuit Makati on Tuesday, January 15.

He added, “I really want what’s best for her and I want her to be happy.”

The 26-year-old athlete explained he does not believe “you can fall out of love that easily.” The two admitted their relationship in 2012, more than a year after they began dating.

The football player refused to comment when asked about the Kapamilya’s actress statement about Luis.

“As long as she’s happy,” Phil said when asked what he will feel if Angel begins dating again. "I don’t know. I don’t know what it feels so I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Phil shared he is  not pursuing anyone romantically as of the moment. In December, he was rumored to be dating KC Concepcion. They both denied the issue, saying they only met once during a TV guest appearance years ago.

The Philippine national football team member talked to the press for the groundbreaking of Circuit Makati’s three sports facilities—namely, Gatorade-Chelsea Blue Pitch, Citykart Racing, and Mountain Dew Skate Park.

Phil added he’s not ready love anew just months after his split with Angel.

“Hindi ako ready to date. Gusto ko mag-concentrate sa football, sa academy, sa pamilya. Yun ang priority ko now,” he said.
